The purpose of this day, set aside annually on the 4th Sunday of Easter, also known as “Good Shepherd Sunday,” is to fulfill the Lord’s instruction to “ask the master of the harvest to send laborers for the harvest.” (Lk 10:2b) Please join us in praying the Augustinian Prayer for Vocations. In his message for this 2022 World Day of Prayer for Vocations, Pope Francis reminds all of us, “As Christians, we do not only receive a vocation individually; we are also called together. We are like the tiles of a mosaic. Each is lovely in itself, but only when they are put together do they form a picture. Each of us shines like a star in the heart of God and in the firmament of the universe.”
